Everyone wants to look good and be comfortable with what they're wearing. I find it extremely difficult to find clothing that works because I'm just over 5', so pants that fit in the waist tend to be way too long (need to pay for hemming, capri's are highwaters, etc); for shirts, the shoulder lines don't match up, and the sleeves are too long. Over the last two years I've found that my feet have swollen and therefore I'm a bigger size; I used to be a 6/6.5 now I'm a 7.5wide. I've compiled a list of stores and brands that I currently use.
Old Navy: Great for pjs, casual wear. I've even found work sweaters and pants here!
Torrid : Pretty expensive but they have some nice things for work. I've bought two pairs of sandals here as well.
Walmart: Plus size section can be hit or miss for shirts (sometimes the prints are ugly, to be honest!) but I can get fabric shorts for workouts or pjs, and plain tshirts for work or casual wear. On occasion I've found shirts for work or pants as well!
Shoes: As I said above, I have a hard time wearing shoes. I have to size up in order to have enough laces, and regular sandals don't fit quite right.
Crocs/clogs from Amazon
Birkenstock
Sauncony sneakers
Walmart flips/flats/birk style sandals
Online shopping is my worst enemy. I've has some luck on Amazon and BloomChic. The issue I have with it is with different styles and brands come different fits, and I hate the hassle of returning things! I'd much rather shop in person every couple of months, and be able to try things on. For this reason I hope malls don't close!
Let me know if you have any recommendations, especially for shoes!
Edit 4/6/2025 some of the examples under shoes had pictures. I didn't realize deleting pictures from the gallery behind the scenes would delete them from the post. Rookie mistake! I need to spend more time on here... Caitlin
